KINGS OF PAEONIA. Patraos, circa 335-315 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 12.85 g, 7 h), Astibos or Damastion. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. Π-OΑ-P-TΑΥ (sic!) Paeonian horse­man, wearing crested helmet and full armor, galloping right and spea­ring fallen enemy, who defends himself with a shield on his left arm. Paeonian Hoard 490 (same dies). Peykov -. Lightly toned. Minor die breaks and tiny marks, otherwise, good very fine.

From the collection of the German Art Historian Dr. Tjark Hausmann, privately acquired from Münzengalerie Dieter Grunow between 1992 and 2003 (with dealer's ticket).
